Luna Ascending:
Stories of Love and Magic

by Renee Brown
(About the author)

A "ghost" who's much more than a "free spirit;" a young knight who is pledged to slay the perpetrators of hideous crimes; a lighthouse keeper's wife who must light the lamps that will guide her lover home; a woman who falls in love with the fiery, untouchable goddess of the volcano; and a sorceress who, after falling on hard times, is quested by the queen with finding the sister who stole the queen's husband — these are the women of love and magic whose stories are told in Luna Ascending: Stories of Love and Magic.

Take a trip into worlds of magic and the most powerful magic of all — love.

...Though far from traditional and not for every reader, LUNA ASCENDING is a nice anthology. Each tale is bountiful and quite interesting in its own right.

—Kathy Boswell, Romantic Times

About the Author

Renee Brown has been a writer all her life. Growing up in the 1960's, when there were no strong female role models or women heroes, she created her own and played out their adventures with her sisters and friends. She continued to write stories and keep journals all through the 70's, when roles for women in fiction and real life seemed to be improving. In 1993, Renee finally decided to get serious about writing. She worked on novels and short stories, producing some of the stories in this book during this period. In 1997, she was invited to attend the prestigious Clarion Writer's Workshop at the University of Michigan.
